Description
This is a full-featured action RPG. You control a hero, summoned from another world to defend the continent of Kareshia.
Rather than raising experience levels, you develop your character through collecting items that raise his statistics. With a massive world to explore, there are many items to be found.
You will gain more characters as you advance through the storyline, and they develop alongside the hero, using the items as well. The game has multiple endings, based on how you interact with the characters. It also has an extra dungeon you can unlock after a certain point in the game, giving it a lot of replay value. Each time you replay the game, your statistics are carried over, and you can choose different difficulties to play on.
With a long and intricate storyline, and the feel of a classic action RPG, this is one game you won't want to miss out on.
Note, that the modern version of Shadowline, is actually Shadowline full voice, which provides an extra game plus mode, full japanese voice acting (although this can be disabled if you wish), and many additions to gameplay. The older, none voiced version is no longer supported, So, while an above download link is provided for historical purposes thanks to the very handy audio archive site, anyone interested in the game would probably be wise to move on to the full voice version.
