Description
Press your Luck is an audio version of the popular American quiz show of the same name..
Played between three players, the object is to get as much money as possible from spinning the prize wheel. Each player gets a number of spins that can award money or prizes (which for the purpose of the game are added to the player's total score). Also on the wheel however are wammies, which, will make all of a player's cash and prizes disappear and their score taken down to zero dollars. Interestingly enough however the money lost to wammies isn't quite gone for good and if a player lands on the "big bank" they'll receive all of the previous players losses.
Since on each turn a player can decide either to spin the wheel, or to force the next player to take his/her spins instead, "press your luck" is not only the name of the game, but also a statement of strategy. After several rounds, the player with the most money and fewest wammies is the winner.
In Jim Kitchin's version of the game, you can choose how many of the three players are humans or bots (computer controled players). The game also contains a large number of fun sounds for spinning the wheel, getting prizes and getting hit with wammies, making it a fun game to play with friends.
As all of Jim’s games install into the same folder you’ll need to install The winkit installer found here, which also adds many of the visual basic dependencies necessary to run not only Jim’s games, but many other’s on modern Windows, though if you have those already you can just download the above file.
Jim Kitchin sadly passed away on August the 2nd, 2015. To learn more about the late great Jim Kitchin and his vast collection of games, you can Visit the Kitchinsinc page on the Audiogames archive site Which also contains one giant installer so that you can get all of Jim's games in one handy package. Goodbye Jim, you will be sorely missed.
