Description
BG Golf Solitaire is another solitaire variant from Spoonbill games, this time one with a sporting theme. In Golf Solitaire, cards are lined up in 7 columns of five cards each on the table. Players must then discard cards to follow in numerical sequence, however higher cards cannot be placed on lower cards, I.E if the top discard is a 3, the next card up must be a four and so on. The last 16 cards make up a Tableu that new cards can be drawn from to complete the deals if a player is stuck. Players earn points for removing all the cards in one column, but lose points for having cards left over.
The Golf part of the game comes from 9 rounds or deals, after which the player gets a total score, in addition most moves have golfing terms.
Spoonbill's varient has the same high level of accessibility usually expected from Ian Humphries. The game is self voicing via Ms Sapi, has background music while you play, and graphics that can be maximized for low vision players. In addition, it has several customizable sets of rules to choose from reflecting whether you can place an ace onto a king to give you a better chance of finishing the golf course, as well as three different difficulties corresponding to three golf courses to challenge your logic.
The game is entirely free to play and makes for a nice relaxing, if occasionally frustrating break.
